About Me

My name is Travis Janzen. I am a Technical Artist and IT Professional. I have been working in these fields for 9 years. My work has revolved around researching game engine technology, designing interactive experiences, planning and deploying network architectures for small and medium size businesses and implementing web platforms.

This site was created to show some of the work I have done and the technology I have used. And if I have opportunities I hope to share some of that knowledge with the online community.

These are Mixed reality experiences that allow for users to engage in free choice learning with a physical environment, but also allowing the freedom that a virtual world can allow to create new innovative experiences.

Hurricane Center

The Hurricane Center allows two users to create their own experience and learn the affects of hurricanes on Florida homes. It also allows them to learn about the preparations needed prior to a hurricane hitting the Florida coast.

This is an interactive table that shows how water affects Florida on a local, and state and global scale. User gain insite on the water cycle and and develop and understanding as to why dry seasons and wet seasons are all valuable components to Florida's ecosystem.

Historical Geology

This experience gives users a chance to explore a core sample of Florida which acts like a timeline to find historical animals of Florida. When users find various animals a life size projection of the animal is shown on an adjacent screen to give users a sense of the scale.

MR MOUT 4

Fully immersive mixed-reality experience focusing on situational awareness. Users are surrounded 360 degrees by a physical set and utilize a head mounted display to view virtual environments and characters. MR MOUT is short for "Mixed-Reality Military Operations in Urban Terrain".
